Fugees - Score (Orange)

The best-selling rap album in the world: ultra-cool but warrior at heart, firm but never aggressive, and elevated by the delightful voice of Lauryn Hill. After a first album categorized as "alternative rap," which went almost unnoticed, the Fugees shifted into high gear and literally blew up in 1996.  

The Score achieved the dream connection between rap and reggae by blending roots flavors with hip-hop minimalism: the impact was tremendous.
