Bumble Hoptimist (L)

Dimensions : 10cm (width) x 15cm (height) x 10cm (depth)

Most smiles start with another smile. The classic Hoptimist is the essence of smiles, optimism and good humour, and with its bright, cheery colours and round, harmonious silhouette it spreads joy wherever it finds itself.

With a strong belief in the power of smiles, Gustav Ehrenreich founded his happy Hoptimist movement in the late 1960s. The aim was to create a figurine that would serve as a constant reminder to stay positive and optimistic. For although the 1960s are often referred to as the “Swinging Sixties”, the decade was marked by unrest. This made Ehrenreich’s design a welcome spreader of joy in an otherwise turbulent time.
Today, the happy Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and they spark joy all over the world. The figurines are available in four different sizes and in a wide range of colours that spread plenty of playfulness, cheer and happiness. There is a Hoptimist for every occasion and every person.

ABOUT HOPTIMIST

For nearly 50 years, the Hoptimist brand has been creating the little Bimble, Bumble, and Birdie figurines, each bringing its own dose of joy and originality. They deeply believe that happiness starts with a smile. Much like Kay Bojesen’s monkey or Georg Jensen’s elephant, Hoptimist introduces small characters into Danish design

The original characters were conceived by Gustav Ehrenreich in 1968 and quickly became a success in Denmark. In 2009, production resumed under the Hoptimist brand, with the vision of honoring Ehrenreich's legacy and continuing to spread joy through these little figurines. Today, the Hoptimist family has expanded to include more characters, always based on the simplicity of the originals. All of these figurines are still produced in Denmark to stay true to the original creations.
